Venue change for Faith No More Milan show

April 27th, 2015|Faith No More, News, Tour dates|0 Comments

Just like on their last date in the city in 2009, Faith No More face a late venue change for their 2 June Sonisphere Italy gig in Milan.

The new venue is the Assago Arena (the area outside the city’s main sports and music indoor venue the Mediolanum Forum).
Metallica, Meshuggah and Gojira are also on the bill.

Tickets naturally remain valid for the new venue. Let’s hope it is better organised that the 2009 gig at a different venue which ended up taking place indoors in plus-35 C heat and with toilets overflowing.

Sonisphere confirm Knebworth cancellation

March 29th, 2012|Faith No More, News|127 Comments

have confirmed that the UK leg of the touring festival, which was to have featured Faith No More as headliners, has been cancelled.

A statement on the Sonisphere site read: “It is with very heavy hearts and much regret that we announce the cancellation of Sonisphere Knebworth 2012.

“Putting the festival together in what is proving to be a very challenging year was more difficult than we anticipated and we have spent the last few months fighting hard to keep Sonisphere in the calendar. Unfortunately circumstances have dictated that we would be unable to run the festival to a standard that both the artists and that Sonisphere’s audience would rightly expect.

“We want to express our deepest regrets to the artists and to thank all the staff, suppliers and contractors who worked so hard with us to try and pull off what has proven to be an impossible task and we know how much they share in our disappointment. We also want to send a huge thanks to the Sonisphere fans who stuck by us and we are so sorry that we can’t fulfil what we set out to do.
“Ticket holders will automatically receive a full refund direct from their ticket agents.”
Team Sonisphere.

But the offending article – which featured the statement “It is with very heavy hearts and much regret that we announce the cancellation of Sonisphere Knebworth 2012″ – does not now feature on the Queen site.

No news yet from FNM but we’ll keep you posted.

Faith No More for Sonisphere UK says UK tabloid

February 3rd, 2012|Faith No More, News, Tour dates|21 Comments

The Daily Star, our UK newspaper of choice for their searing cerebral analysis of world affairs, today reports that Faith No More will play Sonisphere UK this summer.

During the course of an interview with American Idle winner Adam Lambert, who will help Queen thrash their own legacy to bits at the festival, the paper casually reports: “Sonisphere’s line-up, which also includes metal veterans Faith No More, tours Europe before hitting Knebworth on July 6-8, scene of Queen’s final gig with Freddie in 1986.”

Faith No More have previously been strongly rumoured to be playing the French version of the touring festival on the same weekend.

Faith No More at Sonisphere, Getafe setlist and video

July 10th, 2010|Faith No More, News|4 Comments

Faith No More headed the bill at the Sonisphere metalfest in Getafe near Madrid last night and post-Slayer slayed the large crowd.

Sonisphere website
: “Whether through sobriety, maturity or just a reinvigorated passion for their creation (one that has undoubtedly left a greater legacy on a generation of bands that followed than almost any other), Faith No More looked and sounded the best they ever have. Patton’s earlier stated fears that a reunion would be inappropriate can now be officially laid to rest – this wasn’t nostalgia, it was a truly majestic rock band at the very top of their game.”
Virtual Festivals: “At twenty past midnight, the legend that is Mike Patton stepped onto the stage, itself decorated minimally with just some red drapes, him sporting a dazzling silver suit. His chums had also made an effort to stand out from the black t-shirt & combat shorts hoi paloi, very smartly attired in pinstripe suits with carnations. For a tiny moment, once their welcoming roar had subsided, you could hear a pin drop. And then, for the next hour and a half, they absolutely killed it.”
