• Faith No More are next in action, back in Europe, at the Optimus Alive festival in Lisbon on Thursday night/Friday morning. Faith No More 2.0 will be there and live tweeting and blogging on here from 0030 CET on Friday morning.
• It looks like Midlife Crisis will be one of the 80-plus new songs on Rock Band 3 which will be released later this year. Joystiq have a clip of the game’s new trailer and if you look carefully – around the 0:19 mark – you can see Midlife Crisis on the song list.

• Behind the Music: Courtney Love aired on 21 June on VH1 and apparenttly featured an interview with a member of Faith No More, which I am presuming is Roddy. You can – if you are in the US – watch the full episode. If anyone in the US would be so kind as to capture Roddy’s clip(s) and send or upload that would be much appreciated.

• Warfield posters are on sale at Secret Serpents.
• More media love for Faith No More’s Coachella performance. Here’s the Examiner review. Sample quote: “I wanted this to be so good, and with only 50 minutes to perform, they had to nail it and nail it quickly. Good news is they did, and every song was something to be marveled at.”

• New Jersey’s Aquarian Weekly has a review of the Mondo Cane release, due out on 4 May: “It’s a wonderful cross section of Italian pop that the many-talented vocal acrobat has curated on this release, and Mondo Cane is a warm love letter to Italian music that Patton has highlighted for his cultish audience.”

• Today is Record Store Day. Faith No More may not be releasing new music to mark the occasion like some other bands including Blur but Mike Patton has come out in support of the campaign. He said: “”I love indie record stores! My first job was working at a record store. While touring, I still always hit my favorite record stores. What is not to love about record stores? To be surrounded by millions of records, some that you know and love and others that are hidden treasures waiting to be discovered. Record stores are also a great social outing. You can meet and talk to other people that share your love for the art of music. The excitement of strolling the aisles of a cool record store will always excite me. It’s best to do it without knowing what you are looking for. I can spend hours in my favorite record store. Record stores are my candy shops!!!!”

• Bill Gould has produced Elvis Jackson‘s debut album, which was released on Monday 29 March. The Slovenian band supported Faith No More in Bucharest last summer. In the News has all the details: Sample quote: “One thing that must be said of this album is that the production quality is fantastic. Punk bands, when producing full releases, sometimes sound like they’re practising to an empty room, bringing an echo chamber-style sound. Here, it’s consistently crisp and you hear absolutely everything you want to, should you single out bass, drums, guitars or vocals. It’s just bloody brilliant.”

• More poster news. Secret Serpents have a range of signed tour posters on sale at reduced rates, typically from $60 to $45. Bill’s Melbourne’s poster is now on sale at just $50. In addition, two special sets are available: one seven-poster set of European posters at $315 and a four-poster set from Australia and New Zealand at $200. Via the always informative Inside the Rock Poster Frame blog, details of Faith No More’s tour posters for their New Zealand and Australia shows. The big news is that the poster for the Melbourne Festival show on 25 February is being designed by one Bill Gould. Unfortunately, no image of that one yet but the posters will be on sale at those shows and later on SecretSerpents.com, which still has Europe posters on sale as well.

• Finally, managed to find a report of Billy Gould speaking at the Heineken Music Conference in Tel-Aviv from the Jerusalem Post. Sample quote: “Labels used to be in it for the long term with an artist – they’d get signed to a development deal, and the label wouldn’t mind if the first record didn’t sell. The idea was to build a following, and by the third album, you’d begin to see the results of your labor,” he said. “There’s no way that would happen today. If you’re not a hit, you’re gone.”
