Bill shoots down Real Thing rumours
I knew I should have added a ? to that last post. Bill Gould has shot down the rumours emanating from Chile that Faith No More would play the Real Thing album at their Maquinaria festival date in Santiago in November.
Bill tweeted: “News Flash: Contrary to popular belief we will not be playing “The Real Thing” in it’s entirety in Chile.”

Got to say that the blog reanimation could not have been better timed; we have news oozing from every pore these days so here’s a relatively run-of-the-mill round-up.
- Saying as it seems certain that FNM are back in Chile, here is a short interview with Mike Patton from Chilean blog/programme La Mierda en que Vivimos.
- And a timely interview with veteran Northern Ireland noise merchants Therapy? in Ireland’s State magazine in which they recall an incident with Faith No More from a Sao Paolo show:
“We went on a South American tour, and on one date there was a bloody bottle in the dressing room. Two cops were in the dressing room with us, and Faith No More had just come off stage. One of the band reached over and grabbed the cops gun from his holster. The whole room froze, and the two South American cops – it was in Sao Paulo – just looked at each other and burst out laughing. It could have gone horrendously wrong.” - Roddy has tweeted that he will be playing a DJ in an upcoming movie and wants name suggestions:

- In Celebrity Cafe, the past two years have not happened.
- I don’t think we featured this before – Machine Head’s cover of Jizzlobber. (Some context)

UPDATE: Faith No More to play Maquinaria festival in Chile?

UPDATE: The Maquinaria site has now added Faith No More to its lineup page so this looks like a done deal.
The normally spot-on La Tercera newspaper in Chile is reporting that Faith No More will indeed play the Maquinaria festival in Santiago on 12 and 13 November at the Club Hípico.
More details here and more as we have it.
Faith No More’s final Second Coming show in Santiago

(via @Shimaru_)
Faith No More are due to go on stage at 2115 local time at the Estadio Bicentenario Municipal De La Florida in Santiago for the final show of the 2009-2010 Second Coming reunion tour and possibly the band’s final show ever.
There is no live video or audio stream that we are aware of but we will try to keep you updated here.
Not much news on songs played yet but Chilean media have reported that their were crowd disturbances before the concert and pepper spray used. Seems like a minor disturbance and here’s hoping everyone can enjoy the show.
Meanwhile, some video has surfaced of Epic on Twitter (via @sandrarriagada).

They came, they saw and the conquered. Resplendent in their pastel suits, Faith No More played Ashes to Ashes and Midlife Crisis at the Chilean Teleton at the Estadio Nacional tonight. According to the Holy Filament on Twitter, the Midlife Crisis interlude was a cover of “Que he sacado con quererte” by Violeta Parra.
The band were presented with a memento after their performance and Mike Patton took the opportunity to say “Gracias a ti, Don Corleone” to presenter Don Francisco. The band’s performance also got FNM trending on Twitter.

- Nice article on Faith No More – including fresh quotes from Bill – written as a university assignment. Stacey had the moxy to approach Bill and typically he helped out.
- Pawel Ejzenberg performs Easy on Poland’s Got Talent. More Commodores than FNM but he’s certainly made it contemporary and current and relevant /simoncowell.

Billy moves to quell Chile date change rumours
Bill Gould has tweeted on the rumours that Faith No More’s final Second Coming concert on 5 December in Santiago might be moved back one day to accommodate a football match.

According to leading Chilean news portal Terra, Audax Italiano maintain that their Chilean Primera Division match against Universidad de Chile on 5 December at the stadium has been planned for five months with the knowledge of the concert promoters. The article quotes Claudio Terra, the club’s general manager as saying: “the producer fucked with me every day with this, but they are the irresponsible people who took risks to organise a huge event on a day that they were told they could not. The stadium is ours, we have nothing to change and they do not even have any contract with us.”
Holy Filament has the original story on the rumours.
