- Bill Gould has launched a new Twitter account for his Koolarrow record label. Go follow. Opening tweets:
Upgrade of koolarrow.com in progress…first release of year: Flattbush “Otomatik Attak!” Sept. 28. Blistering punk rock Tagalog power.
Thanks for following!! Still getting everything together but hopefully will get a little action going on this place very soon. - Finally some Mondo Cane at the Big Chill video has dropped.
(Thanks to Firsa in comments)
- The Clap cover We Care a Lot in trademark Bliptronic style.
- More on Mike Patton being a fan of the San Jose Sharks [that's hockey - hockey on ice even - apparently] from a Sharks site. Seemingly, he was once slated to sing the national anthem before a game. That’s something I’d like to see and hear. Sharks defenseman [that's defender to those of us who speak non-American sports English] Dan Boyle is a big FNM fan. Boyle told the official Sharks site: “They’re basically my favorite band. They’ve been broken up for 14 years and just got back together for a summer tour and were playing a gig in San Francisco a couple days before the Colorado series. To make a long story short, Tom Holy (Sharks media relations manager) got a hold of their manager and they pretty much set me up backstage. I met everybody and since have become good friends with a couple of guys. I got them down to a couple (play-off) games. They came and saw one Colorado game and I think they saw one Chicago game. The lead singer was supposed to sing the national anthem at one of the Chicago games, but something came up at the last minute with him. But he told me he’s gonna do one next year.”
[Hope you can pay us a visit here Dan to check out the latest FNM news and good luck in your next game - hope you hit a few slam dunk strikes.] - Faith No More perform Easy on Australian TV in May 1993.

would love to see patton cover “prisencolinensineciousol” by Adriano Celentano!
I NEED to see more of Mike at Big Chill…I really wanted to go but wasnt able to. From the the 2 vids posted it seems the UK performance was grittier, heavier somehow…but a really good show. I wonder how the performance went down with the audience. I am begining to wonder if I am EVER gonna get to see him live…last time was when FNM played Brixton in 92:(
A Tagalog punk rock band? Just hearing that language spoken regularly is a bizarre thing for me…! Bring it, Bill!
It’s so hilarious that FNM performed on Hey Hey it’s Saturday
Hi Lastoknow. I have way too much time on my hands and found this wonderful tweet review compilation from a fan at the Big Chill (yep, another link!):
http://asheq.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Big-Chill-Twitter.pdf
FNM related things from 17:30-20:00.
Note to FNM! Your fans are becoming more interesting than you are. Time for some NEWS!
… er, that would be *Mondo Cane* related things from 17:30 – 20:00 on 8/6, rather
Hahahaha Dan Boyle. That’s HILARIOUS, actually. Will make the next Canucks VS Sharks game a lot more enjoyable.
Come play seattle. please?
Haha, Jim licking the fake mike…
Any idea whats going on with those questions everyone sent to fnm? been waiting for the replies!
Admin. knows but is supposedly sworn to secrecy. I think he knows a lot more than he lets on about the future but I would keep it a secret too if the band was nice enough to let me in on things. We love you admin.
I would understand keeping the *answers* to the questions a secret, but not the time that the questions will be answered. That’s kind of weird, isn’t it?
Come Admin….knick knack paddy whack….give a dog a boner…..please…pretty please….just a little hint…anything…make something up…….I really hope the “more news” isn’t just the Chili show…….
I dont get why they didnt play live on Hey Hey It’s Saturday or other Australian TV show??? only the vocals are live.
There is a clip when they played “Evidence” and Billy is playing and upright bass.
I find it odd that all the Australian TV performances I have seen of them that Bill is playing a different type of bass.
does anybody know if FNM ever performed on TV in Australia for The Real Thing tour?
Not sure why they didn’t play live at these TV appearances, maybe it was a logistics thing.
I remember they were on Countdown Revolution (?) when they touched down in Australia back in 1990, and they played/mimed to “Epic”. You could see that the guys all thought it was kinda ridiculous, particularly Patton who froze right in the middle of the final chorus. I’m certain that the performance would be on You Tube somewhere (could even be in the archives of this site).
I always wished there was a camera at the Triple J studios during that legendary set when Puffy walked out of the building in the middle of “War Pigs” and Patton finished the song on drums. That was probably the most memorable moment from that Australian tour.
Sorry if it comes across as me being as an arse but there are other sites involved so I can’t really say no more than hopefully the interview will see the light of day in the next few weeks.
@ Admin – Who are these other sites? They’re certainly taking their time, it doesn’t taken that long to put together a load of questions and answers. Sorry for you that you have to wait around.
In the meantime, I forgot to post the link to my Bilbao BBK Live photos, but they’ve been up for a few weeks now as it was a month ago. They’ve only selected a few for the site I work for, the entire set can be seen in my MySpace galleries, but here is a selection:

Admin….you are definitely not an arse……a secretive fucker….but not an arse!!!!! Something to look forward to!!!!!!! More FNM!!!!!!!
@Ti Mort – You’re right, it doesn’t make him come across as an arse at all. Sounds like it’s other people who are being slack about getting the question answers together, etc. I hope it all surfaces soon. People were asking about it all on some Mike Patton fan forum recently.
The other sites are Stubbadub and Nessie’s French forum, I think. Slackers!
Its not that the other sites are delaying anything; just that these things take time
Oh Admin……what are you hiding? You sneaky devil you! Can’t WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am in touch with Vanessa (Nessie) and I can imagine that article/interview is being produced as soon as they can, but it’s not all that easy when everyone organising things is in other countries. I’ve never met Joshua who does Stubbadub, but I’ve always supported his blog as well as this one, but Josh is in Australia, Nessie in Paris and Adrian (admin here) is in Switzerland.
* Worldwide bloggers united! *
‘Tis OK, good things come to those who wait, right?
This is somewhat random, but since this may be the last MC tag until October…
…would anyone else agree with me if I said Mondo Cane was actually dedicated to a SONG and not a person: “The Lady in My Life” by Michael Jackson (I must…resist…posting a link…!)? I’m serious ~I can actually somewhat argue my point if anyone is interested…
Oh screw it, here’s the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bsnh4q0Rpow
^^One of the sexiest, most romantic grooves in modern music. It may have been an inspiration for him to attempt to sing love songs, which he seems to have shied away from throughout his career (and don’t tell me Lovage is love songs!)
…but Lovage is so damn sexy!
Lovage is sexy. You want to get laid listening to that album, not fall in love with someone.
i think, Patton said enough on what inspired him to sing those Mondo Cane songs))) you’re saying wierd things, Firsa)
Getting married tomorrow……Il cielo in una Stanza will be our first dance….my fiancee agreed…I think it was a great choice….!!!!!
Yulia ~ And you just noticed that I say weird things?
But seriously, listen to the damn song.
TiMort ~ Have fun dancing to those Italian pop songs at your reception! I wish you both the best
Ti Mort also wish you both the best
Great choice of song.
BTW Black Noodle Project covered ‘From Out Of Nowhere’.
Congrats Ti Mort!
Ti Mort, congratulations and best wishes!!!
Congrats, Ti Mort. Hope your day is wonderful. Love the song choice
.
TiMort, Congratulations and best wishes! if me and my husband got married 3-4 years later then we did, we’d probably chose MC song, too)))
Congrats TiMort! Reminds me of the time I saw Fantomas at a record store in SF. Talked to Buzz told him I loved the show from the night before (Directors Cut tour my favorite). He asked why I wasn’t going to the show that night? I told him I was getting married the next day. He said we’re all married you’re gonna love it. He had a sly look on his face.
Congratulations Ti Mort. My friend’s sister in Illinois got married on Friday and they played Mondo Cane at the reception!
Thanks for all the well wishes FNM family…..never felt so much love from so many people that I personally don’t know. Our DJ threw in Easy, Epic, and We Care Alot (both Brixton)….what a blast!!!!!!!
Congrats Kory!
So, is this blog now, for all intents and purposes, finished?
No, Eric. Admin Adrian has stated that he will continue with this website, he’s mentioned that somewhere on here (or was in on Twitter? I read it somewhere). I hope he really does keep it going, it’s one of the best blogs for Mike Patton related news and features.
come on! something new! anything? ahhhggg!!! every time i click just hoping that 71 has changed to 72 or even a 73
I’ll never know, read or hear enough of FNM…
Hi. We will be updating here when there is news but a) its quiet and b) have just spent the last few days on my stag weekend so was out of touch. Hopefully will have an update in the next 48 hours. Thanks, Adrian
Well, your stag/bachelor party time is a lot more important than writing a blog – ENJOY!
I guess the John Zorn shows at Yoshi’s will be the next hot topic (even though this is still technically a FNM blog…
). Imagine Dunn, Patton and Spruance performing together for the first time since Mr. Bungle! That’s HUGE.
Of course I got a ticket for the show on the 28th in a fit of passion (the COBRA performance is the one where they will all be together). But then logic set in and I realized I can’t go, being 2,000+ miles away and all… So if anyone can’t get a ticket because they are sold out, I can be their scapegoat.
You kids should check out John Zorn’s stuff; he’s not as scary as he seems. I particularly like his mellower items, like “The Dreamers” and “The Gift”. Great music to chill out to.
Come on BILLY, where’s the NEWS?
I’m guessing either that the news was the new merch store or it will be when the interviews are done.
lets hope that the interviews are worth the wait.
I’m just waiting for some GOOD news about FNM.
Billy or Roddy will tell us soon, for sure. Remember…, keep the ball rolling…
Not the Squash one, Roddy!
A forum might be nice in the meantime. I keep posting like it’s a forum
I, myself, like the forum idea. I begrudgingly joined MOTO a little while back, but I won’t lie, I didn’t really enjoy it there. In the mean time, I pathetically check this site every day in the hopes of some sort of update.
