What were some other very interesting names for the “Second Coming” tour that just didn’t make the cut for one reason or another?????

  2. Agata says:

Here goes mine (to all guys):
    - What was most memorable moment of Second Coming Tour?
    - Do you play computer games (any favourites)?
    - Any chance for DVD from Second Coming Tour?
    - Did you choose personaly colors of the suits?

  3. Mike Bolger says:

    4) What websites do you check out on a regular basis?

    5) I noticed you did that bit from the theme song from Eastenders during Midlife Crisis for a while there. What other foreign shows, or soap operas in general, are you guys fans of?

  4. Mike Bolger says:

    6) Last year it was the Download festival that earned the bragging rights as being the catalyst for the FNM 2.0 reunion. This year Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax are touring together on the overseas festival circuit. If you were a UK festival promoter with ridiculous resources and could just throw suitcases full of cash at people who would you want to see reunited, or what dreamteam combination tour would you like to see from bands that are still around today?

  5. Firsa says:

After reading some old interviews from the early 90′s, it seems to me that your collective opinion of your fanbase is not nearly as cynical and negative as it used to be. Do you attribute this just to getting mellower as you get older, or because you are able to communicate with your fans a lot more now?

  6. leroydragon says:

i second this question…..After reading some old interviews from the early 90′s, it seems to me that your collective opinion of your fanbase is not nearly as cynical and negative as it used to be. Do you attribute this just to getting mellower as you get older, or because you are able to communicate with your fans a lot more now?

    AND..

What is the release date for the new album?

    AND…..

Are you aware, that the whole fricken planet loves your band? I know you want to be artistic and all, but when your old and 80 will you think back and regret not making us all happy given you have the chance to influence, captivate and provide so much happiness and release for people in every continent of Earth? Not many people will ever be able to translate the energy of music like Faith No More does, you have a dedicated, loyal and loving ARMY of fans, and WE DESERVE A NEW ALBUM. Are we asking that much really for the five of you to take 6 months off your lives, go in a recording studio and create some magic? Really is it that hard, or are do you seem yourself too important and too arty farty to give the people that got all of you where you are today in your respective careers 10 – 15 more excellent pieces of music??? FNM provided the platform for Mr Bungle, Imperial Teen, Fantomas, Mondo Cane – you do realise without FNM, these other projects may not have ever reached fruition in the way they are now ( with world wide fan base/ publicity / fans etc etc – those same FNM people! ) Im sure Mr Bungle would have eventually been big – but that kind of music is expensive to make.. and maybe with the Internet… Bungle would have found it hard to recieve funding without FNM??? Basically, my question is, thanks for the shows and all, thats great, I forked out $3000 going to three of them, If i wanted some greatest hits I would have bought the one of thirty ‘best ofs’ ( which all the WORST FNM songs ) but PLEASE – new album. Create something new, Im pretty sure most of us here would rather a new album than a tour – but then again, there is no money in albums these days…so please just give us an album. We will buy it. I want art. Lyrics. A NEW CD that kicks the shit out of that lazy album AOTY with 3/4 good songs. Fuck you FNM for being my favourite band. It is so annoying.

  7. Ti Mort says:

Leroydragon….Have you listened to Album of the Year…it sounds to me like you may have mistaken it for something else…it is hardly a lazy album…different yes, but lazy? That’s your opinion…but you sound like a die hard……don’t you love all their music? Anyway, I appreciate the passion that swims through your monologue…NEW ALBUM!!!!!!!!!

  8. NB says:

    - Does Patton often rock out with his cock out during rehersals?

    - Have you ever played “Something for the girl with everything” live? If no, why not?

    - Have you been contacted by record companies since the reunion?

  9. ti mort says:

Can you talk a little about the imagery in the video for “A Small Victory”?

    What of Cedrick the Foetus?

Are the girls in the video for easy part of tranny shack.

  10. Broken Throat says:

@NB NB I was at Brixton in 97 (Nov 30th I think) but Sparks joined them for an Encore and play This Town Aint Big Enough….. and Something For The Girl…..

  11. Koltai says:

    1. Is Mike Patton an alien, or what?

    2. Mike: Aren’t you going to quit from FNM and make an LP with TDEP?

    3. You don’t talk about your new album because it’s going to be an avantgard jazz album, am i right??

    4. Mike: Have you ever had stage fright? Were there any occasion when you were high or drunk on stage?

  12. Mike Bolger says:

Also, in case it hasn’t been said before, congratulations on being able to put this tour together with very minimal promotion in a climate that has been very harsh towards live shows (Rolling Stone just did an article on how everyone from Limp Bizkit to Christina Aguilera have canceled their tours because of poor ticket sales)

    7) Anyhoo, at the 1993 Soundwave Festival Billy Gould announced that this would be the last time you guys would play Falling To Pieces. What did that song do to piss you guys off?

    8) Aren’t you guys sick of Epic yet? This is your tour, you don’t have a major label dictating the terms, you could easily drop it from the setlist and I don’t think most of your fans would hold it against you. Are you playing that song out of a sense of obligation or because you still really dig it?

    9) Have you thought about doing another leg of the Second Coming Tour focusing on the rest of your catalog that didn’t get that much air time this time around (Everything’s, Ruined, Smaller and Smaller, Mouth to Mouth, Absolute Zero, A Small Victory, Edge of The World, Falling to Pieces, ect …)

  13. Mike says:

What’s the one thing in FNM’s history you regret the most?
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve received from a fan?

  14. Firsa says:

Shut up, Mike! I like Epic :)

  15. Firsa says:

    (I meant Mike Bolger)

One last question now that I’m here:

The posters for this current tour are the shizz :) I know someone asked on Stubbadub, I think, about how you commission artists for the posters. Expounding on that, do you assume any artistic direction for their work? Is there a certain look or theme that you want for the posters other than the obvious name/place/time; or do you let the artists do their own thing?

  16. Well:
Any chance to meet you in Chile? :O
COME TO CHILE AGAIN PLEASE Only that ;D
    AND…

Why i indentify SO MUCH with Mike Alan Patton ;D

  17. Ti Mort says:

Can you tells us about your riders for concerts…do you have a standard list or do you request different and bizarre stuff each and every time?

  18. NB says:

@Admin: when does the quesion time close?

To all of you: you like Patton and his bodyguard? Take a closer look, 5:15-5:16, to the left :-)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqVjYJsYXH0

(Exactly how is this interview going down? Admin, please elaborate)

  19. Mike Bolger says:

10 ) How come FNM has never played at SF Pride?

It’s only a 20 min set, but I’d love to hear a 20min version of Stripsearched + This Town Aint Big Enough For The Both Of Us

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ON3nTa74kww

    Go Team!

  20. Ti Mort says:

NB: what are we suppose to see off to the left…looks like a good time to me????

  21. smaller&smaller says:

    Hi guys!
@ Mike: Whats your opinion on Jerry Cantrell’s (from Alice in chains) effort to reform AIC?Do u think the new singer is doing them justice?Jerry is a big fan of yours and faith no more btw;) Also which reunion you liked more except your own band.
@ roddy In which country you enjoyed most the fnm reunion(dont lie!;))
@Billy Do you have new songs in the closet? will you guys ever play smaller & smaller PLEASE??
@John Do you guys do any kind of exercise for your finger before you go onstage?
@Bordin Will you collaborate again with Jerry Cantrell i love your work on boggy depot!

  22. leroydragon says:

@timort – yeah I have heard AOTY. I remember lining up for that CD 17 years of age, the day it was released! Yeah I love the album, but it is certainly bland. Ashes to Ashes, Mouth To Mouth ( surely this song should have been on California ) , Collision, Stripsearch all great. The rest – not on par with anything else. I dont know why, it just seems too safe, too polished and too pop. There is no danger in that album like the others, its all too safe. I think Ashes to Ashes was the only song on that album written by all the members, and it shows. Don’t let Patton write the music if you do another one, leave it too Billy, Roddy and Puff, Jon – bring some guitar solo’s back and if you cant then call up Jim to help out, to those who assume Jim Martin was purely there for the image – listen to the Cowboy Song, or Surprise Your Dead, or the solo’s at the end of Annes song, or Woodpecker from Mars, Big Sick is an amazing guitar player and his contributions, how ever small they were on Angel Dust are NEEDED. We need faith no more with RIFFS AND SOLO’s FFS, fucked up slap bass, massive slabs of keys and big chunks of METAL – its not all about patton. Here is another question.. Jon.. have you even learned the solo’s properly?? even on something like Easy, you seem to fuck it up everytime, where Jim Martin could play that solo with one hand, smoking a cig not giving a fuck? Its not a hard thing to play, do you think you could learn it for the next run of shows? To the person who asks about ‘Smaller and Smaller’ – id say its because it has massive slabs OF METAL GUITARS, if Jon cant play Easy, then he aint got any chance of playing that song.

  23. Ti Mort says:

    Well played Leroydragon…very persuasive!

  24. Firsa says:

I respectfully disagree, Leroydragon; I think FNM’s signature sound is in their bass and keyboard combos.

Watch those old Faith No Man videos and tell me you don’t hear it… Big crunchy guitars are fun stuff and all, but the first thing that lets me know a song is by FNM is the bass and keyboards. And even though lead/rhythm guitar seems secondary on most FNM songs (Patton’s vocals can actually fill that role ~ I’m thinking of Cuckoo for Caca as an example) Jon still does an excellent job.

That’s a good question for the band:

What do you think is your signature sound? If someone heard one of your songs on the radio, say an instrumental that they never heard before, how would they know it was you without being told?

  25. Yxesebeb says:

A question for Mike,(i hope you have the guts to answer that and not disappoint me for being a p**sy)
-How do you like your woman to be?(outside and inside)In other words, how can you describe your ideal woman, plz respond with a serious answer -i’m NOT kidding.
    Thanx
Same question goes to Billy.mike B and John im not asking Roddy for obvious reasons ,no Roddy can answer about his ideal guy if he wants actually there you go.

  26. leroydragon says:

@firsa – Ok I agree.. but people need to realize two of the best guitar players OF ALL TIME used to be in Faith No More. . I loved KFAD ( just got it tattoed on the weekend, a nice mach to my Real Thing! ) because of Trey, another insanely talented guitar player. What is missing on AOTY is maybe even just the presence of a ridiculously talented guitar player, to play ontop of a ridiculously talented bass player, a ridiculously talented composer/keyboard player, a ridiculously talented and unique drummer and the most ridiculously talented vocalist EVER. I wish that was Jon, but live it just hurts to hear bung notes, when Jim and Trey ( even Dean Menta ) would and could play this shit one handed, on the phone, smoking a cigarette while copping a blowjob. Listen to the ‘hits’ Epic / Easy / Evidence… all have some shmokin hot guitar solo’s. Cuckoo for Caca is infact a metal sounding riff in the veign of Sepultura/Slayer or something like that. Faith No More ( in my opinion ) where always better when they were fighting the metal sound, like it was there, but it wasn’t. Anway, Im going to stop now, Id be happy if they shat on a record, I’d still buy it, and love it either way.

  27. Integra says:

Billy gould said they dont play “Smaller And Smaller” because it was a very layered track and in terms of sound, didnt work well live.

I would REALLY love to know why they dont play “Everything’s Ruined”. It was a single off Angel Dust and played live maybe 3 times (Jackie Brambles Show, The Word (UK) and maybe somewhere else???)

  28. Jepholomew says:

Why is Billy shown playing keyboard on the front of the Live At Brixton album, and Roddy is shown playing bass? That never happened in the DVD.

Any chance we’ll ever get a full version of the concert in the DVD?

Roddy plays guitar in a few FNM songs from what I’ve seen, where all does he play guitar?

Does everyone in the band actually like hip-hop, or was the rapping all Mike’s decisons for the songs?

If you had to pick one band that is the most similar to you in today’s music (the radio, TV, etc), which band would that be?

  29. Jeffy Weffy says:

What do Billy, Roddy, and Mike B think of Faith No Man material being found and posted on YouTube? Have they watched it? Any good memories come flowing back?

  30. NB says:

    - According to Matt Wallace (producer) Biily Gould played the guitar on 2/3 of the songs on Angel Dust, which means Jim Martin played on Jizzlobber and…..?

    - Wade Worthington has uploaded some footage of Faith no Man on Youtube. Did you see it? If yes, what do you think?

    - On a couple of pictures from The Second Coming, Patton needs oxygen backstage. What’s that all about?

    - Joe Lynn Turner, Ritchie Blackmore, Kevin DuBrow (RIP) etc.. Who do you think has the nicest hairpiece in the world of heavy metal?

    - Honestly, when did you last listen to “Live at the Brixton Academy”?

    - I just got a copy of “The Real Story”, I haven’t read it yet. Have you read it? Will there be another book? Any offers to write a biograpy maybe (Patton)?

    - Is there any recording of Sharp Young Men or Torture :-)

    - When Mike Patton auditioned for Faith no More, is it true that Trevor DUnn was with him, laughing his ass off, because he’d never heard Patton singing that way before?

    - I’m kind of dissapointed that FNM did’t make a statement on the passing of Ronnie James Dio, a true legend which has inspired you even though you don’t know it yourselves. What’s you favourite Dio song? (Hmmm Billy, 1 song, 1 place.. a Dio tribute? A FNM cover of Stand up and Shout?)

  31. Firsa says:

My sources (i.e. Stubbadub) are telling me that we are supposed to get our interview questions in by July 3rd. I don’t think there are nearly enough questions yet… This isn’t Cliff’s Notes, people! :)

  32. Integra says:

——- I’m kind of dissapointed that FNM did’t make a statement on the passing of Ronnie James Dio, a true legend which has inspired you even though you don’t know it yourselves. What’s you favourite Dio song? (Hmmm Billy, 1 song, 1 place.. a Dio tribute? A FNM cover of Stand up and Shout?)———-

wtf??? FNM are not part of that whole metal scene and in fact I highly doubt Dio had any influence on any of them. why on earth would they make a statement or do a cover song?

  33. dede says:

    A question for Mike,
Same question goes to Billy.mike B and John im not asking Roddy for obvious reasons ,no Roddy can answer about his ideal guy if he wants actually.
-How do you like your woman to be?(outside and inside)In other words, how can you describe your ideal woman.

  34. Kika Smogra says:

    ok, to all:
    - the first thing you do after you are done with the shows in US and the summer festivals?
    - do you plan to meet-up later on to at least discuss your “possibilities and agendas for 2011″?
    - what are your recent obsessions (preferably those you are not to be ashamed of, haha)?
    - favorite venues as well as places you love to return to?

    Mike P. apparently:
    - I know you have still many projects ahead (Italian movie score, Lovage, Tomahawk…Zorn stuff etc. etc.,) but after having some experience with orchestras and choirs, any temptations (or plans) to do some acapella stuff as well?
    - regarding Mondo Cane: what was you criteria for contacting the orchestras & musicians on different venues, were the countries chosen deliberately or was it some “oh, what a nice coincidence” thing?
    - the most annying fan or stalker you have ever met and what did they fckn do?
    - are you doing your composing / communicating with other collaborators/ mixing, sampling whatever working stuff strictly at home only or is it on tours as well?

ok, loads of work here, need to go :(

  35. What has been the craziest fan encounter?

What has been the most insane or personal gift you ever received from a fan?

What has been the most intensive moment on tour with FNM up to now?

Which song brought the most fighting with it in the making internally in the band?

Which song was the craziest and hardest in the making?

Which band has been the most groupie-like band to stalk you guys on a festival and did really piss you off?

Can you guys always motivate yourself for each gig and switch to performance mode and enjoy each evening or are some just boring robotic nights when you’re happy to get it over with?

Does anything else but the music and origin really connect you guys? What do you have in common?

  36. cacatoo says:

For Mike Patton: Which were some of your favorite metal bands growing up?

Billy: What artists have influenced your bass playing?

For all of FNM: Which album are you most proud of? Why?

How come you guys don’t play more songs off of Angel Dust in your live concerts?

Have you guys wrote any new songs and if so is that an indication of a new album to be released in the future? ;D

  37. Alex Julien says:

How did the original logo (2 squares) come about? whos idea was it?

  38. Cormac says:

Did the band get any use out of the lime green mankini I threw up on stage at Dublin last August?

  39. fan 4a life time says:

Frist off I am a fan of every line up of the band & I would love to hear a new album, now for my questions.

1.I remember reading shortly after the break up Billy sayin something about Faith no More having a lot of Experimental music we were yet to hear and he hoped one day to release it. Will that music ever see the light of day?

2.Are there any Pro Shot Angel Dust era live shows?

3.Why do you think KFAD sold well in places like Australia, but not in the States ?

4.What band today if any would you say caputres the spirit of what FNM were about?

5.What was the MTV reaction behind the scenes when you made your now legendary appearance to promote the Angel Dust album?

Lastly I just want to say thanks for all the great music you have given us all over the years & I hope for just a little bit more.
