A very young Billy and a undreadlocked baby-faced Puffy along with Wade Worthington and Mike The Man Morris from 1983.
(Cheers to Mike Bolger for alerting to me to this in Comments and to vithovenstyle for posting to the Tube)
Strange how the FNM signature rhythm sound is very much evident here; actually overwhelming the rest of the music.
Very early Faith No Man footage

If this is 1983 than that has to be a 19 or 20 year old Roddy on keys, no?
Ugh
The rhythm reminds me a little of Greed and Spirit.
I was talk to Bill about this video, he just say that era with FN MAN was funny! The sound is strange…but, what we can say, its a very rare thing, and very important to us..FANS!
About the first comment…dude..thats not Roddy come on! Is Wade Wornighton..
I hve the original ep of Faith No Man, I dont know why I like so much of this era!!!
Well thats it!
Thanks for the internet! hehehe
The rhythm definately stood out. . Always good to see the very early beginings of bands, especially as some of us don’t get the chance first time around. The positive influence of the internet, it’s all great!
Fricken awesome! Thats good stuff right there!!
Amazing – as manic as their songs can get, their “signature” has never changed. Thanks for posting this.
That’s stunning!! And yes, we can recognize the “FNM signature”… But I’m not sure it was Roddy in that video. Anyway, that’s a great great stuff, it’s always cool to have vids from my FB buddy Vithoven!! hahahaha I’ll post it asap in the page of the French Community!!
That’s only 1 video from this show. Here’s 4 more from the original uploader: http://www.youtube.com/user/DIGGNITUP
The keyboarder can´t play. That´s because it can´t be Roddy. Roddy studied the stuff!
Pinkerton, I disagree!! *zooms away*
No really I’m sure that was Roddy. Unless they had a Roddy substitute that day.
That’s what I thought initially….but if you pause the video at the 1:18 to 1:22 it’s pretty clear it’s Roddy. Like I was saying, Worthington was already out of the band by february of 83′.
Unless this was Wade’s LAST show…. Nah, fuckit, that’s Roddy.
Actually I meant “Reginald, I disagree!”… from Family Guy…
Anyway, wow, thanks for the new video posts above. This is all new to me – thanks!
I agree with alien visionary. It looks like Roddy and Wade was out of the band before the EP went to press. Can someone set this straight? Admin…? When was the EP released…January, February, or later?
I think these might be from earlier than 83.
look, that’s Wade and not Roddy, look at his face.
and thank you Admin for all these valuable updates!!!!
um, are the people saying that it’s roddy serious? so obviously isn’t, even if you don’t know the history of fnm.
anyway, i think it’s a really good song, and i’d love it even if i didn’t know it was fnm. better than “quiet in heaven” which i knew from before.
I’m go back and forth with it…..I can’t tell anymore. I looked much different now than i did at 19. If it isn’t Roddy than the date of the video is off.
Here’s Wade. Is that the same guy in the video? I don’t think so.

I must correct myself, it´s Roddy indead…
indeed, sorry…my english…
Wow! did fernetpunker just admit he was wrong? Bravo.
@alien_visionary, do we know each other?
ceterum censeo: there will be no new FNM-release.
@fernetpunker you’ll be correcting yourself again.
If I was an visionary from outter space I´d share this point of view, but I´m “just a man”. No chance. FNM is history.
@Punker! I’m very interested in knowing your point of view on this, if you would only provide some reasons why you arrived at it.
~ this coming from someone to whom only the current incarnation of the band has any meaning. They did not exist to me before last year. They are not yet “history” to me
since when did Roddy have slightly goofy teeth? Can’t be him.
@alien_visionary
That pic you posted is Wade. On the video is Wade.
I remember hearing that Billy and Puffy used to get high together and listen to a lot of Killing Joke back in the early days… Anyone else hear the influence in this song?
Keys are Wade Worthington without a doubt. I know this for a fact. Still very talented musically.
@Matt Fudge. I see it, firstly in a postpunk with keyboard aproach, and in music in general too, not just in early stuff. Remember guitars in Absolute Zero)
I also see that Puffy wears Theatre Of Hate t-shirt here – they were fantastic in their early days like Westworld))) Postpunk ruled! And FNM definitely have postpunk roots.
@ Yulia
So true about absolute zero… Was always one of my favorites, even though it never made it on KFAD….Never listened to theatre of hate but definitely will now… Thanks.
