This show was the best of the three, hands down. (and ALL of them were amazing) … The energy tonight was off the charts, and the surprises FNM gave us were quite amazing. Having Chuck Mosley come out during one of the Encores and perform As the Worm Turns, Death March, Mark Bowen, and We Care A Lot was just jaw dropping to witness…… Then, to top THAT off, the very very last tune (and encore) was Introduce Yourself, which had BOTH Patton and Mosley on stage throughout the song singing off each other….. FUCKING SICK! Really no complaints at all – they did a great job of mixing it up over the 3 nights…. Their set tonight (before the Encores) was somewhat standard of what they’ve been playing though. Tuesday night, if anything, was a nice mixup with the set – as they opened with Midnight Cowboy, played The Real Thing. I think everybody wanted a little more off The Real Thing, and a little more off Angel Dust. No Malpractice, Small Victory, Everything’s Ruined, etc…. BUT – they can’t just play their whole catalog, so I’ll shut up now, LOL….

Great job guys – 3 nights were ALL excellent, and I feel so lucky I got to go. I will never forget it!

(Oh – one last highlight from Wednesday night’s show…. Patton dove into the crowd twice – the second during the very end of Just a Man – it was up a bit high off a speaker to the far side of the stage, very very awesome stuff…like I said, the energy in the building was just off the charts. )

Well – here’s to hoping there may be another chance for me to see FNM – but I do realize it’s “possible” this could be it (unless I travel to Europe) – So I’m really glad I was out here from Arizona to see them. WELL WELL worth the trip, the money, everything.

I was right in front of Mike with the epic stage dive. I caught it on film, and I would love to give it to this site as an exclusive (yes it is that good.) I am importing it as we speak. Admin, contact me!

  5. Jawshco says:

Sorry it wasn’t Crab Song! It was Death March. Swap in Death March for Crab Song and I think that’s perfect.

  6. tbrandao says:

Uploading videos now. Taking a while… blame the hotel connection, not me. Will write up a quick review soon, but pictures might only come later this week. I gotta run back to the airport in 3 hours god damn it!

  7. Jeff K. says:

Ouch dude! 3 hours to the airport! Good luck, have a safe trip. I fly out Thurs. around 1PM.

  8. jared t says:

    we care alot w/chuck

    more to come

  10. Mike Bolger says:

That bit with Mike and Chuck vibing off each other during Introduce Yourself was very odd and touching.

It’s like if your parents divorced on really bad terms, then like 20 years later they’re both shit-faced drunk at one of their kid’s weddings and all of a sudden they’re the Beastie Boys.

Thanks guys, hopefully we can do this again sometime.

  11. Jason says:

    Awesome just awesome.

  12. tbrandao says:

Unreal. There is no other word to describe what tonight (actually this week) was. Best show out of the three, hands down. The band was so into it. The crowd was insane. Patton jump on us twice and, well… quoting Mike Patton himself: “Chuck Fucking Mosley”!!!

White Thrash Debutantes were lame. Cheerleaders were fun (I was hoping for an appearance in Be Aggressive but it didn’t happen), but let’s go straight to FNM.

The setlist posted above is pretty accurate, but I tweeted it real time to the admin, so I’m sure he’s got it. :-) There was no break in Midlife Crisis, Patton still can’t get the lyrics for Digging The Grave right and they played the Michael Jackson cover again. Tonight it sounded even better. Caffeine was the highlight (Chuck topic aside) for me. Extremely heavy and tight.

Mike jumped on the crowd in from out of Nowhere and again in Just a Man. It was funny. He sat on the amp close to Roddy (I made a good video of the whole scene), played with the crowd and said: “You know I am gonna jump on you, right?”. Talked some more, stood up and jumped. Insane!

They came back for the first encore, Roddy asks the crew to turn the lights down low for this number. MP gets the setlist on his hand, pretends he made a mistake, looks to the crowd and says he needs to go get someone. He runs back pushing Chuck! Unbelievable! As much as we have been expecting this to happen sometime, I just couldn’t believe myself. It was incredible to see Chuck singing with the band. He seemed very grateful and said “thank you so much for inviting me, for having me over tonight” quite a few times.

Another encore. MP takes the mic and says: “CHUCK FUCKING MOSLEY! Do you like him? He is good, right? I think he is good!”. Then he says “back to normal now. and we will see what happens later”.

Well, later was Introduce Yourself with both of them. Chuck sang the first part and Mike forgot it was his turn. Kind of funny as Chuck kept looking at him for a couple seconds.
End of the song, no “special goodbye” and they were off the stage.

On my way out I see Chuck merchandise for sale. Pretty sweet.. got myself a shirt. Today I witnessed history.

Oh yeah, as I finish this post, my first video is up. Will only post a couple more.. Here is the link (youtube says it is still processing and the quality will get better within a few minutes): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvEy9tl_zwI

    Cheers!

  13. SeanL says:

    God…DAMN THAT SHOW WAS AMAZING!!!

What a night to go to my first FNM show huh? I was the curly headed fucker on the left side of the balcony…standing next to a bunch of sitting zombies. That’s alright, I got them up for most of the show.

I made friends with one of the Ushers who was talking about how he overheard about the special guest…he was teasing me, but I knew it was Chuck! He came over to me once Chuck came out, so I could say “I Fucking KNEW IT!”

He was cool though, he came back with a Setlist from Tuesday night…pretty cool, even though I wasn’t there on Tuesday.

Lets hope for a new album at somepoint, but until then, at least we got some Uncle Chuck!

  14. MartyB says:

Thanks for the info and links guys. I just can’t believe Chuck Mosley being on stage with FNM again. Brilliant!!

  15. admin says:

Cheers Thiago and everyone else for videos, links, tweets and comments. What a night!

  16. Ramon M. says:

That was so much better than Monday’s show I went to…almost the same setlist…with minor adjustments….especially CHUCK ‘FUCKING’ MOSLEY!!!!!!!!!! all I can say is wow….I didnt think I could be a bigger Faith No More fan than I am right now…of course Patton era is the definitive FNM…but Uncle Chuck albums are great in thier own special kind of way…I loveeeeee ‘as the worm turns’ and never in a million years thought I would see the original vocalist do it…would have died if they played ‘annies song’ one of my other fav chuck era songs..Patton still amazes me everytime I see him (2 FNM, 1 Fantomas show)…his stage dives were insane..esp the speaker one…all in all what a great week this has been…2 FNM shows that I will never forget…thank you SF Warfield for this once in a lifetime experience…..

  17. Sophie says:

I’ve never been a Chuck Mosley fan, but to have him onstage with Mike is amazing. It must have been very emmotional last night for everyone who was there. Trey Spruance was there, too apparently.

  18. tbrandao says:

The “Crab Song” my goodness!!!!! Wonderful!!!

I´m so happy that all of these surprises happened last night!

    I care a lot!!!

    >>It’s like if your parents divorced on really bad terms, then like 20 years later they’re both >>shit-faced drunk at one of their kid’s weddings and all of a sudden they’re the Beastie >>Boys.

This could very well sum up this experience better than anyone could have….bravo!

  26. Grant says:

I have to say, by the look of those video clips, Chuck sang his ass off and looked very cozy up onstage, like it hadn’t been over two decades…..yeah, it was a bit rough, but Chuck’s always been a bit rough…I love me some Patton, and wouldn’t change a moment of FNM’s history…but that was a helluva thing to watch…many thanks to everyone who posted vids!! God, I love the internet!

  27. Biily G Is Not My Lover says:

Where were Courtney and Mark Bowen?

  28. Lavinia says:

Oh yes thank god for the internet but its not the same. That looked amazing, now gutted I couldn’t get over for the shows.

  29. Bobby B Better says:

  32. Pingback: FAITH NO MORE REUNITE WITH CHUCK MOSLEY (DON’T WORRY, IT WAS ONLY FOR A FEW SONGS) | MetalSucks

  33. JDub says:

The roller coaster ride that comes with being a faith no more fan is going up up up! They had so much fun last night that even if this whole thing started over money its different now. They are firing on all cylinders heading into their first US festival show.

Now I don’t go to rock shows to learn life lessons, but if I was the singer of a band who was fired and the band went on to be rich and famous I don’t think I would ever get over it even 20 years later. Uncle Chuck put his bitterness aside and did his thing. His lyrics a fraction of a second slower than the band, some lyrics out of place and missed, and often singing to close or far from the mic. I wouldn’t have had it any other way, this was the original FNM experience. Wouldn’t have felt right if Chuck came out and sang perfect. When Chuck and Patton hit the stage together my head almost exploded, just wish it was for a longer song.

As perfect as last night was it could have been better with a Jim Martin appearance, but bitterness one way or the other or both prevails there. I was thinking during the guitar solo in Epic that if Jim could’ve joined in for that song the roof might have come off.

All is good in Faith no more world, which means the wheels are gonna come off any minute J/K… Thanks to all the foreigners for supporting my favorite band, without all of you this would have never happened! Have fun every one going to Coachella, I hope they do something special for you too!

  34. Diego says:

Mosley was so fuckin’ druuuuunk!!!!!!!!! It must have been fun to be there, but watching the videos is not so much!! He ruined the whole thing!! That’s why he got fired in the first place. 22 years and he still hasn’t changed…

  35. Josh says:

Thiago and Trey, espero que você viaja seguro! Forgive me if that’s not quite right, hopefully the sentiment is clear :-)

What an event. Dunno what Uncle Chuck was up to, but if he’s off the wagon again, that’s a shame. His rendition of “Mark Bowen” was fantastic, and it seemed like he was more into that song than any of the others he did.

I wonder if we’ll ever know how the Chuckness came to be: forgiveness, money, fan service… I’m not sure it matters.

Call me a snob, but I really preferred the “Midnight Cowboy” opening on Tuesday. “Reunited” is a LOT of fun, but remembering “Midnight Cowboy” is giving me goosebumps as I type.

I tried out video last night for the first time. I got “Ben” and “Introduce Yourself” in separate videos:

    Ben – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVCjnTQyoMA
Introduce Yourself – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwJXBREYp_g (focus sucked, sorry)

I also got KFAD, Epic, and all the rest of Chuck, but the videos need to be split up. Looks like there’s no shortage of movies of this show, but I’ll post ‘em back here when I’ve had time to process ‘em.

And now, it’s over. Three of the best shows I’ve ever seen, many favorite tunes finally heard live, and of course, the reunion at the reunion. Thanks, guys. Now let’s get this annual Jon Hudson Birthday Show in effect!

  36. tbrandao says:

Well, sure… if you guys want to analyze his technical performance it might have been mediocre. He looked tired during the second song already, but hey.. who knows if they even rehearsed together? Sure, Chuck is no Mike Patton (who makes a lot of mistakes too, btw) but he gave his all. That’s what last night was all about.

  38. Andrew says:

Why are you guys being so critic of Chuck? Are you fans or musical Robert Eberts? He did his thing. To even see him there with the band AND Patton is a big deal.

  39. Diego says:

Andrew, seeing him was really a big deal!! Totally!! The problem was listening to him.

  40. hail_ozzy says:

Awesome show. But when Chuck came out, I kept waiting for Jim Martin to come out too, but he never did. Cuck was cool, but I would have preferred Martin.

    Chuck was fkm amazing

  44. herbboy says:

I agree that it was awesome for Chuck to show up..but i feel like they should have only gave him one song and then the rest of the encore set with Mike..Chuck was a hot mess…if you were there..you cannot honestly tell me that he sounded good or performed good..it was painful at times…

  45. erin says:

it’s so nice to go online and see everyone jerking off to the best band ever. it’s more about the big picture than the nitty gritty. a reunion’s a reunion. don’t forget these guys (except patton) are pushing 50 or in mosley’s case over 50. patton is god and i would have been pleased if mosley never played, but it would have only been a great concert and not the best one of my lifetime.

i split in two when i saw chuck mosley on stage. being a fnm whore i even love watching old uploaded vhs videos pre patton. mosley did his thing the way he did it back then. not perfect and that’s what makes him so punk rock.

they are an incredibly talented band and the only thing missing was jim martin, but you can’t have it all. i’ll take chuck over martin any day and live (sniff sniff) w/ out jizzlobber.

i love fnm fans and their sick obsession. we’re truly our own breed of deadheads.

    xoxoxoxo

  46. Jones says:

I know that you can’t really judge sound quality from videos, but from what I could tell, Chuck… kinda sucked. I’m sure it was exciting for everyone there to be surprised with Chuck coming out, but as hard as I’ve tried to like his voice, I just… can’t.

  47. herbboy says:

one of the videos I shot last night.. more to come

    Evidence – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZG5FlepZJY

  48. Chris says:

Not sure what show everyone was at last night, but, Chuck certainly didn’t sound great at all…I can understand the appreciation towards him bein’ there, but, if you were there, you know the crowd was out of it, the floor was completely still and the momentum that had lead up to that point was crushed…I mean, that last encore when Patton came back out was kinda hard to watch, not because it was bad, but, because the crowd was out of it, Patton got pissed at the asshole who threw somethin’ at him during ‘Stripsearch.’ I agree with herbboy that Chuck should have gotten one or two songs and then had Patton finish it up.
