- Faith No More for the Rock N’Roll Hall of Fame? The band will be eligible next year though this blog from the New Jersey Star-Ledger is dismissive: “Next year’s list of newly eligible candidates, for instance, couldn’t be more underwhelming: it’s unlikely that the Indigo Girls, Megadeth and Faith No More will garner much support.” The same article goes on to propose Jane’s Addiction, Green Day, Alice in Chains and Oasis as future inductees.
- As we tweeted yesterday, LA Weekly have an in-depth “first listen” of Mike Patton’s Mondo Cane album. Sample quote:”But there is a key difference between this release and the majority of Patton’s enviable back-catalog: there’s not a whiff of weird for weird’s sake (with all due respect), making Mondo Cane — and not the regrettably hip-hop infused Peeping Tom — the true Patton pop record that his acolytes have been waiting for all these years.”
- And here is the track-listing for the record which is released in the US on 4 May.
1. Il Cielo In Una Stanza
2. Che Notte!
3. Ore D’Amore
4. Deep Down
5. Quello Che Conta
6. Urlo Negro
7. Scalinatella
8. L’Uomo Che Non Sapeva Amare
9. 20 KM Al Giorno
10. Ti Offro Da Bere
11. Senza Fine

Amazing yeeeeeeeees!!!
Wish them luck, they totally deserve it !! =’)
That photo of Patton with the car is amazing. Behing the music is doing FNM? Wow! And, obviously, I hope they get in the hall of fame. If Alice In Chains do, I’ll still be happy.
so are they doing a FNM behind the music or a Courtney Love one? I’d watch either one.
It’s a Courtney Love behind the music. Roddy was interviewed.
New Courtney one
Yes! I am starting to look forward to this release more and more every day. From watching the Youtube videos… I thought MP’s voice was a little too strong and un-subtle for what he was singing (even the hyper stuff). There always seems to be a hard edge of sarcasm and irony in his voice, even while “crooning”. If he softened things up a little in the remastering I think it will sound great.
Also the review mentioned some “tropicalismo” (?!?) throughout the tracks. I bet he couldn’t resist throwing a little Les Baxter-esque exotica in the mix. This might motivate me to get my little Tiki bar set up and have a few cocktail parties this spring
I’m not sure but I think those ‘Mondo Cane’ pics are old. I think I saw them in some mag and they were taken around the time Peeping Tom was released!!??
They look very familiar…
Well, on the site, it says they’re from 2010?
I think they messed up, ’cause I know I’ve seen http://www.ipecac.com/promo/promos/patton_promo_2010_2.jpg that picture a few years ago.
Yeah, some of those photos have been around for a while – at least since ’08.
I stole this link from the Coachella thread (Thanks to reverendalexg for the head’s up)

Vote FNM in some silly MTV battle of the bands.
Agrees with Whit (comment #2) !! Wish I could see it soon in YouTube =’)
