Yes!!!!! Grab the tickets. I tried getting floor tickets for April 14th and I couldn’t. I was on ticket master at 9:02am and they had none! I just went on and saw the 2nd show that was added on April 13th and I was able to get tickets!!!! The pre-sale code is “second coming”. Get them while you can!!!!!
I’m so excited! Got my ticket, got a good seat. 4th time I’ll have seen them there.
SEE YOU AT THE WARFIELD MR PATTON!!!
I have reserved seats for the Wednesday show…hmm…maybe I should get some floor tickets for Tuesday?
That’s precisely what I did.
Reserved Balcony for wed., Floor for tues.
Did everybody make out ok with tickets? If not let me know. I have a few extras. This has been a wonderful day!!!!! I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!
Well I got my floor tickets for Tuesday but I am looking for floor tickets for Wednesday. Anyone?
I will see you all there!!!!! This is the best thing EVER!!!!!!
Glad to see people posting on here got tickets too! Balcony Wednesday, Floor Tuesday! Can’t wait 2 months will take forever!
A hometown gig is always best for a live DVD.
If anyone has extra tickets for Tuesday I would really like to go to both shows!!!! As I said I have extras for Wednesday. If anyone wants to trade let me know. 3 tickets Floor for Wed is what I have on the table. just let me know.
I didn’t get any and wanted to surprise my huband …….. does anyone have extra for sale?
You would save my year!
Thank you
Cecilia
Ti I would die for those tickets…. please sell them to me..
I got tickets for Wednesday on the floor and am flying all the way from Ohio. I found out late that they added a second show. Does anyone have any spare floor seats for the Tuesday floor, as I am coming from Ohio?? Please email me at mpatton666@aol.com.
Devil Patton! Um, I might. I have two pairs of floor tickets for both shows…slight chance that one might be up for grabs. Not promising anything, but I’ll let you know!
Cheers
Lusty
Peoples flying in: In case anyone’s wondering what to do, where to eat and even where to, um,… go… in their free time around the Warfield shows I found some delicious info while lurking on the Coachella forums, thanks to “Mike Tattoo” (Bolger?) on FNM thread:
http://www.coachella.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27636&page=46
Yes, page 46. Good info – comes in handy for a clueless out-of-towner like myself. See y’all on the 14th
Mike’s advice is awesome (BTW I’m Stubb A Dubb on that forum, lol). Come join us there
We’re planning pre and post drink ups after the shows!
Lusty
Ha! Yeah, that’s me. Here’s the original posting with some extra places added for people if they want to explore more of San Francisco while in town -
Market and 6th has a lot of crackheads. Lot of heroin on 8th, crack on 6th, and then a whole bunch of tourists and the mall over on 5th. It’s weird how the city can change so drastically in a single block.
There’s a lot of crackheads, knuckheads, mentally ill homeless people, Night of the Living Dead action in this part of town. I’ve lived here 15 years and never had a problem, then again I’m a guy and I’m 6’2” so people tend not to fuck with me. If you’re fucked up going into or out of the show you probably don’t want to announce that to the rest of the world. Be aware of your surroundings and don’t make eye contact or challenge any of the psychos. Common sense shit.
But there’s some great food here –
Tu Lan
8 6th St
http://www.yelp.com/biz/tu-lan-san-francisco
Really cheap. Really good Vietnamese food that’s been around for over 30 years. The place is a total dive but there’s always a mob of people trying to get seats or orders to go. You can get stuffed for under $10 and have leftovers for another meal.
Taqueria Cancun
1003 Market Street
http://www.yelp.com/biz/taqueria-cancun-san-francisco-3
This place has won several Best of the Bay type awards for best burrito in the city. I don’t know if I’d go that far (I’m from San Diego so we take our burritos kind of seriously) but they’re pretty good and like others have mentioned, part of the charm is watching the crackhead theater outside as you eat your food. I seem to recall the last time I wanted to use their single occupancy bathroom there was some kind of drama, even after I had bought and ate my food, it still required some negotiation on my part, which brings me too –
Wesfield Mall
845 Market Street @ 5th
It’s essential that if you drink and you go out in SF that you know where all the public bathrooms are. Yes, I’m a guy and can find an alleyway just like everyone else, but if you’re going out with a group of people it’s considered bad form to ask everyone to pee in the streets when there’s a perfectly good restroom right down the block. There are several stalls downstairs in the food court section which has saved my bladder more than once. It sucks that there are all these single occupancy bathrooms in this part of town, which means you have to stand in line and wait till the junkie inside is done overdosing before you can pee.
24 hour Carl’s Jr off of Market St on both 7th and 5th Aves.
Carl’s Jr has the Warfield surrounded on either side just a block up or down Market. I’ve had some really weird post-party experiences at the Market and 7th location. It’s right in front of UN Plaza where all the homeless people have garage sales and sell the stuff that they stole from you earlier that day. It’s a crazy mix of people in here after a show. There’s all the people from your show, some tweaked out ravers, drag queens, homeless trouble makers, security that ain’t taking shit from anyone, Hippy dude that is arguing with his bacon cheese burger about Woodstock, and gang bangers jumping people over by the soda refill machine. I love coming to this joint after a show.
ALSO –
If you happen to get in town early and want to do check out San Francisco here are some recommendations that aren’t all that corny –
Ameba Records
1855 Haight
http://www.yelp.com/biz/amoeba-music-san-francisco
Rolling Stone magazine called Amoeba the best record store in the country. I wouldn’t argue that statement. The store used to be a bowling alley, to give you some idea how huge it is.
I know, I know, no one actually buys hardcopies of music these days, it’s all about the downloading and mp3, but if you’re into music this place is like a shrine AND they have one of the best movie sections I’ve ever seen. $10 bootleg DVD blacksplotation, Hong Kong horror art flicks, cult, Nazi Zombie movies, Australian 70’s stunt rock, lots of amazing stuff that you can’t get on Netflix.
All of Haight is like a human wildlife preserve too. Sometimes it’s like Woodstock, then you take a few steps and it becomes like Lollapalooza, then you turn the corner and almost get punched in the face by an agro Woodstock 2.
The Mission
Mike Patton wrote a list of some of his favorite spots in SF and not surprisingly several of them are in the Mission
http://articles.sfgate.com/2008-05-04/living/17153133_1_wild-things-mike-patton-hippie-thing
The Mission is really lovely during the day and really easy to get shot or stabbed at night, but there is lots to explore. Both Balmy Alley and Clarion Alley are amazing graffiti / mural sanctuaries. You can take pictures and not worry about looking like a tourist because locals are standing next to you taking pictures too.
Chinatown
Can be fun. House of Nanking is pretty famous and worth checking out if you’re hungry and in the neighborhood.
http://www.yelp.com/biz/house-of-nanking-san-francisco
Fisherman’s Warf.
Not worth your time. Really. You can go hang out in mall when you start collecting your Social Security. Don’t worry, it’ll still be there.
****If you’re coming in from out of town you really don’t need a rental car to get around SF and in most cases a car really is a liability. There are places where if you leave your car on the street for more than an hour it will get towed. It’s easy to get around on public transportation (MUNI and BART) so I’d recommend going that route. If you are driving in check with your hotel/motel and see what their parking situation is.
Damn! I got no tix… the concert is 2 days before my bday (04.16) and I got duped. Anyone with 2 extra GA tix for either day wanna share? I’ll pay (duh). And if you need proof of ID to see that I was actually born on 04.16, I can arrange for that.
P.S.: Will also consider trading them for my first unborn child
Thanks for the glimmer of hope Lusty! I thought that if I had a chance it’d be on here. As another plea to anyone who may have spare Tuesday Floor tickets, I am not your casual FNM fan, caught the Dublin, Ireland show and the Guadalajara, Mexico show last year. Would love to catch 2 shows on this trip. And for anyone who will sell there spares to me (at a fellow fan price) I’ve got your beer tab covered either/both nights. Cheers!
I tried for 15 minutes at 9am sharp and only got balcony tickets…i know ticketmaster and they tend to hold back floor tickets so that scalpers will buy up lesser desired tickets and then release floor or close seats later in the on sale..i finally got floor tickets after 15 minutes of dumping my balcony tickets that popped up..so glad i did..looking forward to the show….i’ll be the one smoking the kindest herb from nor cal..right in front of you..
Great effort. Cheers
Hey Cecillia. Why don’t we try to get in touch and take more. could you send an email address or something. Personally I would rather talk over the phone or something. I am still interested in 3 tickets for tuesday. Balcony or floor. Let me know.
That should have said”talk more”.
P.S. every one I just got 3 balcony tickets off ticketmaster……
For Tuesday (obviously)
Hey FNM family in San Fran!!!! I need your help. Any thought on accomodations? I am looking for something fairly inexpensive (not dodgy), in a decent part of the city, for 3 to 4 nights. Thanks in advance!!
You guys are awesome…I’m flying up from Phoenix solo…anyone planning on doing some prepartying for either show? BTW, I got an extra floor ticket for Wednesday’s show as I had a few of us here trying to make sure I was able to seal the deal. If there is anyone who is interested in that or hanging out before the shows please send an email to bungle@cox.net.
Ti Mort – lots of accommodation discussion on the FNM thread on the Coachella forum. I think Mike’s the guy to ask though.
Otherwise a threader just booked at the Hotel Triton which is within walking distance and for what seems like a reasonable price. If I can’t mooch off my SF friends, I may book there too!
Cheers,
Lusty
BTW – I think we should merge the fans here and the fans on the forum (though I’m sure a lot of us overlap) and REALLY have a party lol.
Coming from Long Island with my sister and best friend. Floor tix for both nights…Mike D. thanks for the tips, looking forward to this, and I’m semi-erect. We should arrange a pre-party somewhere.
Just got seating tickets for Tuesday night!! We’re flying in from Scotland on the Friday before, saw them twice last year but I’m sure this one will be the best!! See you in April.
EDIT – that Hotel Triton wasn’t the hotel.
However, I found this hotel Executive Hotel Vintage Court, Union Square through Hotels.com and it seems pretty rad. Within walking distance of the Warfield, free wi-fi and wine tastings. Small rooms but looks neat. I might book it just to hold it
Has anyone got any spare floor tickets for either night? I’ve got balcony seats for Tuesday. SO HAPPY, I’ve been waiting 21 years for this !!!! Was too young to be allowed to see the band in the 80s/90s, and they broke up before I ever got the chance to see them live.
Thanks and see you in San Francisco !!!
M
Hello everyone….!FNM really made my day yesterday got 2 tix center stage lower balcony
Wednesday nite.I have a longbed crewcab can anyone suggest a hotel with good parking so the crackhitlers wont try anything….2 L.A. City FIREMEN would appreciate it!!Where’s a good place for drinks before the gig that is close……?
“Hey FNM family in San Fran!!!! I need your help. Any thought on accomodations? I am looking for something fairly inexpensive (not dodgy), in a decent part of the city, for 3 to 4 nights. Thanks in advance!!”
My friends have nothing but good things to say about Hotel Mirabelle.
http://www.yelp.com/biz/hotel-mirabelle-san-francisco
My friend stayed there for an entire week for $253, which your average chain hotel downtown can go for $200 a night. Other people have said that they can get rooms for $40 a day.
It’s a block away from BART in the Mission which is one of the greatest places to explore in SF.
Mike Patton’s favorite burrito place is about 10 blocks down the street
http://articles.sfgate.com/2008-05-04/living/17153133_1_wild-things-mike-patton-hippie-thing
My favorite Filipino place is right around the corner.
http://www.yelp.com/biz/irmas-pampanga-restaurant-san-francisco
There’s some world famous murals in this part of town like
Clarion Alley
http://theoutersunset.com/2009/05/19/clarion-alley/
And Balmy Alley
http://theoutersunset.com/2009/06/01/balmy-alley/
$3 Lumpia! Rock on.
that’s some great info…. thanks!!!! i also have two extra tix for the 14th.. balcony,
Really stoked for this…….and i’m even more stoked for those fans seeing FNM for the first time! You guys have no idea how blown away you’re going to be.
Anyone notice on monday gig on warfiled ticketmaster link? Says currently not on sale. Can’t wait to see FNM again, it’s been 19 years!
Just bought the very last ticket for 4/14 and it happened to be a floor ticket!
