Faith No More to play PinkPop rumours

The Dutch blogosphere has been buzzing with speculation that Faith No More will play the Pinkpop festival in the Netherlands in May 2010. Not a lot of detail in the two stories at Rockblog and FOK but regular Netherlands-based commenter tbeest reckons Rockblog may have inside information from a family member of the festival organiser.

We’ll keep you posted if and when we hear more news but the rumour certainly comes right from out of the blue with much of the recent FNM speculation centering on when they would be announcing the promised US dates. Could Roddy’s Mystery Leg actually be another European festival jaunt in May and June?

Otherwise, the Coachella festival forums continue to reverberate with chat of an FNM appearance at the famed Californian festival in April while there have also been inevitable murmurs of a joint FNM/Soundgarden tour.

In site news, I will be upgrading and relocating the site in the next week or ten days but I’ll make sure to give plenty of notice. Anything new you’d like to see on the site?

  1. Hmmmmm, I guess we’ll get a good idea of when the US tour COULD start when the Coachella Lineup is announced in two weeks. I’m pretty sure though that they wouldn’t eschew the US tour in favour of going to Europe again because that just seems unecessarily cruel!

Unless April comprises of a few US cities and THAT’S their US tour.

Either way, we’ll just have to wait and see…only a few more weeks now!

Thanks for posting the news. Just to add up: this tweet was about the source of rockblog.nl:

We cannot give you the name (ed: the person who gave this info) but it is from near family of Smeets (and they refer to the organiser, mr Jan Smeets).
However it is still a rumour, and it is a website that hunts for band names on festivals. We will see :-)

  5. Firsa says:

I’ve been teased so much I’m starting to get numb.

  6. Dan Manthorpe says:

If anything, the Faith No More of old did a fair few covers.
A continuation of the old list of FNM tour covers I think would be kinda apt, considering Reunited (Peaches and Herb?), Pokerface (Lady Gaga), Fuck You (Lily Allen), the Eastenders theme, and Chariots of Fire have all appeared in one way or another in some of the sets on the new tour. Who knows, there might be more out there.

Holy shit !!! I need to know more !!
I really REALLY hope this rumour will be finally true that FNM will probably go back to Europe for another tour and then, I’ll start learning Dutch. Wish they could come back again in Paris and in London (I won’t miss Brixton again, for fuck’s sake, I was too young or too sick or too broke to afford a ticket)!!! Froggies want FNM back !! ;-)

  8. Ewoud says:

They would be such sell out artist if they did another tour trough europe!! And btw mr. Smeets did’nt say anything about FNM on the radio this morning!

  9. Jason says:

    fuk soundgarden!

  10. ThePetro says:

I think a reunion tour with Soundgarden and Faith No More would totally make sense. I know they also have mutual respect for each other as well.

  11. Agata says:

Even it’s only a rumour I’m dreaming about seeing them again in Europe.

  12. Boooo fucking boooo !!! Thumbs down !!!

  13. Sophie Jane says:

I HOPE this is going to be true and that there will be more Europe shows this year. I may be going to see them in Australia, but I will be hungry for lots more! The Europe performances were such a success last year that they should return.

  14. FNM @ Pinkpop would be great, definitely there if this rumor is true.
